Prairie Falls Creek

Tributary to the Sol Duc River

 With the construction of the Quillayute Naval Air Station during WW II, this creek was diverted and  caused a blockage which prevented salmon from entering this stream to spawn for over fifty years.  A co-op project with the WA DFW, People for Salmon, and Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition installed an oversized culvert and reconnected to the old stream bed.  This added access to several miles of stream habitat.
