Bogachiel Springs Spawning Habitat Project

The Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition in cooperation with the USFS would like to create several habitat ponds along a length of stream.  During the past year a flood caused a large pile of debris to accumulate at the tail end of a culvert pipe and causes the stream to flood out over an open area.  The Coalition would like to excavate the end of the pipe and a small channel leading to a series of ponds, which we also intend to excavate.  The area would be premium rearing habitat and a few juveniles Coho have been seen at the tail end of the culvert.  The project would be monitored for the presence of adult spawners, redds, and juveniles by the Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition and USFS.
